Ancient varieties backed against the Apuan Alps..
On the border of Tuscany and Liguria, there is a diverse and little known growing region called the Colli di Luni. It is hear where Ivan Giuliani, organically farms 22 hectares of vineyards that focus on ancient Mediterranean varieties like Polera, Bosco, Albarola, Ruzzesse, and Vermentino Nero. On the steeply terraced vineyards, vines are harvested by hand and made with minimal intervention. The resulting wines initially reveal their freshness and acidity, later revealing complexity and palate weight that feel unassuming and remarkably memorable.
