An Abruzzo newcomer with old ties..

Gaetano Carboni-Amorotti is the caretaker for the century old family vineyard and winery, which until 2016 only made wine for family consumption. With a patient hand, both viticulturally and in the cellar, Gaetano was able to take his 15 hectare vineyard certified organic, and refurbish the old winery into something almost mythical.. Nestled in the hillside historic center of Loreto Aprutino, a visit to Gaetano’s winery is a rare treat, and one where photography or documentation of any kind is forbidden. In his own words “we want to respect the magic of this special place”. The focus is Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo. Fermentations occur naturally, although the wines are filtered for clarity and precision. Also a patron and member of the Contemporary Art community, Gaetano invites artists from all over the globe to stay at his family farm in residency.
